• GENERAL SUMMARY**\
  
  

The Landscape Technician I is responsible for the overall maintenance of

contractual grounds and tasks assigned by Section Lead, completing

training and certifications necessary to accomplish tasks to standard

and complying with published procedures and regulations. Performs other

duties assigned by Section Lead and Supervisor.

• MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**\

• Care for lawns and plants using a variety of tools, including rakes,
  
  

saws, shovels, trimmers, axe and pruning saws, to ensure they remain

aesthetically pleasing.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed in accordance with the Statement
  
  

of Work (SOW) and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual

section. Achieve 80% or greater on the SOW standards quiz.*

• Conduct general maintenance duties such as cleaning walkways, fixing
  
  

fountains and other duties.\

Standards: *All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Mow the grass using edgers and mowers, keeping it at an optimal
  
  

height.\

• Standards: Cut all grass to the height specified in the SOW for
  
  

each section.*

• Keep plants and flowers healthy by pruning and trimming trees and
  
  

shrubs and weeding, mulching and aerating.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with
  
  

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Plant new grass and foliage following planned designs to create the
  
  

yard as prescribed by the client.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with
  
  

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Fertilize the lawns and plants and apply any herbicides or
  
  

pesticides to keep the foliage healthy and thriving.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with
  
  

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Monitor the sprinkler system to ensure it regularly waters the lawns
  
  

and reset it as necessary, as well as water by hand when needed to

maintain the health of the plants.\

• Standards: Immediately notify supervisor of irregularities with the
  
  

irrigation system.*

• Keep flower beds and garden areas clean by picking up any dead
  
  

branches and flowers as well as trimming or picking the plants as

needed.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with
  
  

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Assist in placing decorative rocks, stones, statues and other items
  
  

around the lawn to facilitate the completion of the overall

aesthetic look.\

• Standards: All tasks are completed on time and in accordance with
  
  

the SOW and Task and Frequency Charts for each individual section.*

• Responsible for the accountability of cleaning and maintenance of
  
  

all equipment to include, but not limited to, checking fluid levels,

sharpening tools, and proper store equipment.\

• Standard: Inspect equipment prior, during and after use. Ensure
  
  

equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.*

• Responsible for adhering to all published safety guidelines to
  
  

include but not limited to posted procedures, equipment operating

instructions, Safety Data Sheets and reporting safety concerns or

violations to the Section Lead or Leadership.\

• Standards: Achieve 80% or greater on the Hazard Communication
  
  

Program quizzes.*

• Responsible for performing tasks to standards specified in Task and
  
  

Frequency Charts and for notifying Section Lead of discrepancies.\

• Standards: Complete all tasks on time and report discrepancies to
  
  

supervisor as soon as possible not to exceed 24hrs after encounter.*

• Responsible for completing all assigned training and ACHEVEs annual
  
  

and mandatory training.\

• Standards: Complete 100% of assigned training within first 90 days
  
  

of hire.*

• Responsible for reporting the following to include but not limited
  
  

to discrepancies, damage to equipment, damage to facilities, safety

violations, and for adhering to reporting procedures.\

• Standards: All reporting is submitted complete and on time. Achieve
  
  

80% or greater on reporting procedures test.*

• Performs other duties assigned by Section Lead and Supervisor.\
