Duties
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment to perform landscaping tasks efficiently and safely
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and other lawn care practices
- Prune trees and shrubs, perform tree trimming, and manage plant health through proper horticultural techniques
- Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering and plant growth
- Manage landscape maintenance including planting, mulching, weeding, and pest control using pesticide management knowledge
- Construct hardscape features such as pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations
- Must take direction well and has visualization capabilities
Experience
- 2 years experience with professional landscape references
- Proven outdoor work experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping roles
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscape equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including mowing, pruning, planting, and irrigation system management
- Familiarity with desert plants
- Ability to identify various plants and pests for effective landscape care
- Experience operating groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, and skidsteers
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to power tools and outdoor work environments
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and landscape design basics is preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment
