Job Summary: The Special Educator Preschool Administrative Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with the Preschool Manager and Program Director to ensure all NYC children receiving Special Education services through our Preschool Department receive high quality services which meet all state, county and federal expectations. This individual must hold a valid NY State Special Education Certification.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure all referrals received are paired with an appropriate therapist in a timely manner
  • Conduct quality assurance responsibilities including, but not limited to, internal case audits, parent surveys and review of concerns regarding cases.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of therapist productivity to ensure approved services are provided consistently; communicate any identified concerns to the appropriate Manager
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise throughout the life of a case.
  • Hold trainings and workshops for clinical team as needed
  • Remain current with and ensure all cases meet state and county regulations
  • Provide any needed coverage or assistance to the Preschool Department as needed
  • Conduct regular outreach activities
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director

Qualifications And Other Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Special Education
  • Must be a NYS certified Special Education Teacher: Initial or Professional Students with Disabilities Birth - 2 OR Permanent Special Education or Students with Disabilities All Grades
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Superior organizational and long-range planning skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including excel
  • Fluent in a second language a plus.

Physical Requirements Of The Role

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time up to 90% of the work day working on a computer/electronic device.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Compensation:$65,000-$70,000
  • Hours:Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm. This position is in office.
