Job Description
UNIX Operations team is searching for a candidate proficient in LINUX (Red Hat). The ideal candidate must have 10 years of systems administration experience and will support ~300 Linux servers. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, organization, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include operational support of the Linux environment and OS patching.
Essential Requirements
- RHEL Linux 8/9 administration & patch management
- Linux server builds & custom configurations
- Performance tuning of Oracle database servers
- Server security & vulnerability management
- SolarWinds monitoring
- Ansible playbook development
- Ansible Automation Platform management & upgrades
- Satellite 6 management & upgrades
- VMware operational knowledge
- Automation experience
- Server migration experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge (topology & firewalled environments)
Unix/Linux Systems Engineer Responsibilities
- System tuning to meet application requirements
- System standardization & automation
- Keep UNIX environment compliant (OS/hardware upgrades, software updates)
- Resolve incident tickets
- Remediate OS vulnerabilities
- Quarterly RedHat patching (PCI compliance)
- Interface with IT & business clients
- Rotating on-call 24×7 support

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field — or equivalent experience.
