Job Description: Supported Living Services (SLS) Supervisor
Position Title: Supported Living Services Supervisor
Reports To: Program Manager / SLS Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime)
Location: Coachella Valley
Schedule: PM shift
Position Summary
The Supported Living Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and support of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and individuals served in the Supported Living Services (SLS) program. This role ensures that services are delivered in alignment with each individual’s Person-Centered Plan, state and regional center regulations, and organizational policies. The Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring quality of care, staff development, compliance, and safety within the program.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight & Service Delivery

Ensure all services align with the individual’s Person-Centered Plan, Individual Service Plan (ISP), and SLS program standards.

Conduct regular home visits to monitor program quality, staff performance, and consumer satisfaction.

Support and model best practices in independent living skills, community integration, and self-advocacy for individuals served.

Respond to emergencies and provide after-hours support on a rotating/on-call basis.
Staff Supervision & Development

Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure staff competency.

Ensure DSPs are meeting ratio requirements, clocking in/out properly, and adhering to policies.

Partner with HR and management on hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regional center regulations (Title 17/22, DDS, IRC, etc.).

Complete and review required documentation including progress notes, incident reports (SIRs), and staff time records.

Maintain up-to-date consumer and staff files in compliance with licensing and organizational requirements.

Support audits and site reviews by regulatory agencies.
Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with the SLS Manager, Program Director, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.

Communicate regularly with families, case managers, and regional centers to provide updates and resolve concerns.

Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and case conferences.

Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
Quality & Risk Management

Monitor health, safety, and welfare of individuals served, including medication protocols and emergency preparedness.

Identify, document, and address potential risks in the home or community environment.

Implement corrective actions following incidents or compliance findings.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to program development.
Qualifications
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Supported Living Services, Direct Support, or related field.

Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of Title 17/22 regulations and DDS/Regional Center requirements.

Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Ability to provide physical support to individuals, including assistance with mobility, personal care, or emergencies.

Willingness to work in home, community, and office settings.
Salary : $27 - $32
