What are the responsibilities and job description for the Videographer & Video Editor - Automotive Content position at Aces Fuel Injection, Inc.?
Videographer & Video Editor
About the Position
Aces Fuel Injection is seeking an experienced Videographer & Video Editor to create professional video and photography content featuring our automotive products, customer vehicles, installations, testing, and real-world applications.
Video production is the primary responsibility of this position.
This is a hands-on production role for someone who can independently plan, film, and edit professional content from start to finish. We are specifically looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience behind the camera and in the editing room—not someone seeking an entry-level marketing, social media, or trainee position.
Our content may include customer and vehicle/build stories, installer interviews, testimonial-style advertising, product introductions, installation and educational videos, campaign content, and coverage from our shop, dyno testing, and automotive events.
Portfolio Required
Applicants must provide examples of work demonstrating both personal filming and personal video editing. Please share link(s) to your work via Indeed messaging.
Your portfolio should include at least one complete project such as:
- Customer or brand story
- Interview
- Product demonstration
- Educational or instructional video
- Automotive or technical-product content
A highlight reel or showreel alone will not be sufficient. We want to see your ability to develop and complete an entire piece of content.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan video shoots based on the intended audience, purpose, product, and campaign objectives
- Develop practical story concepts, interview questions, shot lists, schedules, and equipment plans
- Independently film professional-quality video using proper exposure, focus, stabilization, lighting, and audio
- Capture vehicles, engine bays, products, installations, demonstrations, interviews, testing, natural sound, and supporting B-roll
- Review critical footage and audio before leaving a shoot location
- Edit raw footage into clear, engaging, professional stories
- Develop strong openings, appropriate pacing, product-focused visuals, captions, basic graphics, sound, and color
- Create short-form advertising content, longer customer or product stories, and educational content
- Produce photography for products, vehicles, applications, thumbnails, and other agreed marketing needs
- Organize and maintain raw footage, audio, project files, graphics, photography, and final exports in company storage
- Deliver editable project files that can be accessed and used by the company
- Incorporate feedback and revisions while maintaining production quality
- Communicate potential delays, missing footage, technical questions, or other production concerns early enough for corrective action
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, technical specialists, leadership, and other team members
- Participate in scheduled off-site shoots, customer visits, automotive events, and other production activities as needed
The position is expected to independently manage assigned work from the initial brief through final handoff, including communicating production risks and providing realistic completion estimates.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional videography and video-editing experience
- Portfolio showing both personally filmed and personally edited work
- Ability to independently operate professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment
- Proficiency with a professional editing platform such as: Adobe Premier, ProDaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Comparable professional editing software
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, shot composition, product-detail photography/video, pacing, and supporting footage
- Ability to create clean captions, basic graphics, and professionally finished video content
- Strong file and project organization skills
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technical products and ask appropriate questions when clarification is needed
- Ability to receive and apply constructive creative feedback
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor when working with customers, employees, leadership, and external partners
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Chattanooga and participate in scheduled off-site shoots
Preferred Experience
Approximately 2 years of paid production experience is preferred as a general guideline; however, demonstrated ability and quality of work will be more important than a specific number of years.
Experience creating content involving any of the following is strongly preferred:
- Automotive
- Motorsports or powersports
- Performance vehicles
- Tools or equipment
- Machinery
- Technical products
- Product demonstrations
- Installation or instructional content
Automotive experience is preferred but is not required. Candidates who have produced high-quality content involving other technical products are encouraged to apply.
What Success Looks Like
During the first several months, the successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to:
- Learn Aces Fuel Injection products and basic content-approval requirements
- Consistently capture clean, usable video and audio
- Complete assigned projects from filming through final edit
- Provide organized and editable project files
- Give realistic production estimates and communicate issues early
- Independently produce a repeatable mix of product, advertising, customer, and field content
- Reduce unnecessary revisions through stronger planning and execution
- Maintain professional-quality, organized, and retrievable production files
