Production Manager - $95k - $110k bonus - Pasco, WA
I'm working with a well-established fertilizer and soil manufacturer based in Washington State to find an experienced Production Manager for their facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment and knows how to get the best out of both people and processes.
The Role
You'll take full ownership of day-to-day manufacturing operations — from scheduling and inventory through to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You'll lead a team of supervisors and production staff, manage supplier relationships, and work closely with R&D, logistics, and sales to keep production aligned with customer demand. Budget responsibility comes with the territory.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running production scheduling and raw material/finished goods inventory
- Leading, coaching and developing your supervisory team
- Driving quality assurance to meet both internal and customer standards
- Owning safety protocols and regulatory compliance across the facility
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and cost efficiencies
- Partnering with R&D on new product development and existing product improvement
- Managing equipment maintenance and capital upgrades
- Building and maintaining strong supplier and industry partnerships
- Aligning output with logistics and sales to hit delivery commitments
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Agricultural Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 years in fertilizer production, composting, pellet mill or comparable manufacturing
- 3 years in a people leadership role
- Solid understanding of both organic and synthetic fertilizer production
- Comfortable with production management software and QC systems
- A track record of driving efficiency gains and reducing costs
Bonus Points For
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Production management or QA certifications
- English/Spanish bilingual skills
- Background in sustainable agriculture

Required Qualifications

- Experience with production management software and quality control systems
- Proven track record in implementing efficiency improvements and cost reduction strategies
- Excellent leadership and team management skills

- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Certifications in production management or quality assurance
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles
