Job Summary
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to support safe and reliable operations. This role ensures all electrical work is performed in compliance with applicable safety codes, regulations, and company standards. The Journeyman Electrician works independently or as part of a team to diagnose issues, complete repairs, and support ongoing maintenance and improvement initiatives across facilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Inspect, install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, controls, and equipment
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Ensure all work complies with national, state, and local electrical codes and safety standards
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Use power construction equipment, hand tools, testing devices, and measuring instruments safely and effectively
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Coordinate inspections and ensure completed work passes required inspections
- Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and other safety procedures at all times
- Document work performed, materials used, and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams as needed
- Respond to emergency electrical issues, including after-hours support when required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the Pacific Northwest region
- Minimum of 5 years of journeyman-level electrical experience
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and code compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of nonresidential maintenance practices related to electrical and building systems
- Experience supporting HVAC/Refrigeration electrical systems in nonresidential or commercial facilities
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or production environments
- Experience with PLCs, motor controls, or automation systems
- Additional electrical or safety certifications
Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
