Job Title: Environmental & PSM Engineer
Location: Severn, MD (On-site)
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Overview:
A leading manufacturer in the food & beverage industry is seeking a hands-on Environmental & PSM Engineer to oversee key programs around environmental compliance and process safety management (PSM). This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a related industry who is ready to take ownership of site-wide initiatives related to sustainability, risk mitigation, and project support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the facility’s PSM/RMP compliance efforts including audits, training, and documentation.
- Conduct and maintain process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
- Manage environmental permits, reporting, and audits (Air, Stormwater, SPCC, Hazardous Waste, etc.).
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams on project design, AutoCAD updates, and contractor oversight.
- Support incident investigations and ensure follow-through on root cause corrective actions.
- Coordinate with local emergency planning agencies on drills and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of experience in environmental compliance and/or PSM within manufacturing (preferably food or CPG).
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, Cal-ARP, and local regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD and managing drawing archives is a plus.
