Electro-Mechanical Technician
Buffalo, NY
$30 - $35 p/h differential
3rd Shift: 10:50pm - 7am
Position Summary
Perform multi-skilled maintenance and electrical work to install, maintain, and repair machinery, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and building structures in a high-speed packaging environment. Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards and electrical codes.
Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training preferred
- Current electrician’s license preferred or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of arc-flash protection, electrical codes, and safety practices
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documents
- Experience with PLCs and drive programming
- Proficient with conduit benders, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to work overtime as required
Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic/testing equipment
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs using manuals and schematics
- Align and balance equipment following installation
- Maintain building structures including basic carpentry, welding, plumbing, and painting
- Order parts, document repairs, and estimate costs as needed
Electrical Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, drives, motors, and PLCs
- Test electrical systems for safety, continuity, and code compliance
- Install conduit, pull wire, and connect circuit breakers (480V and 110V)
- Identify electrical hazards and advise management on unsafe equipment
