Job Description
A Capture Manager develops strategies to win major contracts (often government/federal), leading cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, analyze competitors, build customer relationships, and create winning proposals by aligning technical, pricing, and business aspects, ensuring compliance and successful transition post-award. Key duties include market research, competitive analysis, leading proposal development (RFIs, RFPs), negotiating partnerships, managing resources, and driving internal alignment for complex bids, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Create and execute plans to win specific new business, analyzing market trends and competitors.
- Opportunity Management: Identify, research, and prioritize potential opportunities in the business pipeline.
- Team Leadership: Lead internal teams (technical, pricing, legal, sales) to develop winning strategies and proposals.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers to understand needs and shape requirements.
- Proposal Leadership: Oversee the entire proposal lifecycle, ensuring compliance, developing win themes, and managing submissions for RFIs, Sources Sought, and RFPs.
- Risk & Resource Management: Identify and mitigate risks, secure internal resources, and manage budgets for capture efforts.
- Collaboration: Act as a liaison between various internal departments (sales, operations, technical) and external partners.

- Experience: Proven success in securing large contracts, particularly in government/federal sectors.
- Leadership: Strong ability to influence, persuade, and lead diverse teams without direct authority.

- Technical/Business Acumen: Understanding of complex pricing, contracts, and technical solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or related field often required.
