Job description
The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities and/or services related to Aviation & Defense industries. Those duties include:
- Purchasing materials, supplies and services at most favorable terms for the organization.
- Qualifying vendors, evaluating quotes, and negotiating prices and terms for goods and services.
- Analyzes and reviews Purchase Requisitions and prepares associated Requests for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/RFQ) and Purchase Orders (PO), evaluates quotes, and conducts market research.
- Operates under FAR and DFARS acquisition regulations and procedures for compliance as necessary.
- Tracking purchases, supplier quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information.
- Working with various departments such as Program Management, Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience Requirements:
- Experience in purchasing and acquisition processes and techniques.
- Knowledge of the FAR and DFARS.
- Requires daily use of high-level communication – including written and verbal skills.
- Negotiation skills.

- Strong work ethic that is proactive and self-motivated
- 2-4 years of purchasing experience preferred.
