We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary preschool team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting young children with special needs — including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, and other developmental disabilities — through comprehensive assessment, intervention, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive developmental, behavioral, and psychological evaluations for preschool-aged children enrolled in special education programs.
- Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop individualized education and treatment plans (IEPs and BIPs) that address each child’s unique strengths and needs.
- Provide classroom-based behavioral consultation, including modeling effective behavior management techniques and supporting staff in implementing strategies.
- Develop and oversee Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) grounded in evidence-based practices.
- Support curriculum design and classroom programming that incorporates Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and developmental best practices.
- Offer crisis intervention, staff coaching, and guidance on effective de-escalation strategies.
- Provide parent training and counseling to foster continuity of behavioral supports between home and school environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Provide staff training on effective behavioral support in the school environment
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution (Preferred).
- New York State Licensure (or eligibility) as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities (Required).
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development, behavioral assessment, and evidence-based interventions for children with ASD and related conditions.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ADOS preferred
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:15AM-3:15PM
- Full-time, 12-month position (including 6-week summer session)
