Outside Sales Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative will sell services offered by the company to current and new clientele.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Builds and maintains a network of sources to identify and develop new sales opportunities.
- Communicate with customers to identify and understand their service needs; recommends appropriate services to meet those needs.
- Engage with customers through in-person visits and/or virtual communication, with travel as required to drive sales results and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves post-sale issues as they arise.
- Maintains communication with current and former customers to promote new services and enhancements.
- Maintains accurate and timely records of sales activities, including calls, orders, closed sales, lost business, and customer or vendor concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Industrial and/or manufacturing sales experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, business, or related technical field OR
- A minimum of five (5) years of related sales experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Domestic travel up to 50% of the time, as business needs require.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
