PCB Rework Technician

PCB Rework Technician - FTE, TTH OR DH - 1st Shift M-F

Department: Quality

Summary Statement

Efficiently rework electronic and mechanical assemblies. Responsible for testing functions including programming, In-Circuit Test (ICT), Functional Test (FT), and calibration. Set up and operate test fixtures and test stations.

1. Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the Quality Supervisor.

2. Contacts

Works closely with cross-functional departments.

3. Work Environment & Schedule

• Modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility
• Standard 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• Overtime may be required
• Reliable transportation required

4. Required Education, Experience & Skills

Requirements:

• Understanding of IPC SMT placement and soldering acceptability standards
• Understanding of IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721
• 1–2 years of electronic PCBA rework experience
• Ability to identify electronic components

Preferred:

• Certified IPC Specialist
• IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-7711/7721 certification
• 3–5 years of PCBA rework experience
• 1–2 years of technician experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuitry
• Knowledge of troubleshooting procedures
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to read assembly drawings
• Perform duties in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality System standards

6. Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to distinguish colors and fine circuit details
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Eye protection and ESD protection required in work areas

7. Tools & Equipment Used

• Soldering and desoldering stations
• Nano soldering stations
• BGA replacement equipment
• In-circuit test platforms
• Test stands and bed-of-nails fixtures
• Electronic and mechanical hand tools
• Oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency generators, digital analyzers
