Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Associate Software Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of software projects used in medical laboratory environments. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, basic technical understanding, and an interest in healthcare technology. This role provides hands-on experience with laboratory software systems—including Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), instrument integrations, and compliance-driven updates—while working closely with senior project managers and technical leads to ensure reliable and compliant system performance. Fully onsite role.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Support
- Assist in defining project scope, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with project leads and laboratory stakeholders
- Coordinate activities among developers, QA testers, analysts, and lab staff to maintain project momentum
- Track progress against milestones and support documentation of project plans and requirements
Software Development Process
- Support Agile or hybrid development workflows by preparing meeting notes, updating tracking tools (e.g., Jira), and helping organize sprint ceremonies
- Maintain project artifacts, such as user stories, workflow diagrams, and test documentation
- Collaborate with senior technical staff to understand system integrations and data flows
Maintenance & Operations
- Help track and prioritize maintenance tasks, bug reports, and enhancement requests
- Assist in documenting system issues and coordinating their resolution with development and support teams
- Contribute to software release documentation and version tracking
Stakeholder Communication
- Support communication between IT, laboratory teams, and vendors to ensure updates and issues are clearly documented
- Prepare status summaries, dashboards, and risk logs for review by senior project managers
- Help translate technical updates into operational terms for lab users
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in software or IT project coordination, ideally within healthcare, research, or regulated industries
- Understanding of basic Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts
- Familiarity with project management or Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or Confluence
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to healthcare or laboratory information systems (LIS, EHR, or related IT systems)
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or an interest in learning them
- Experience with technical documentation or test coordination
- CAPM, or Scrum Master certification (or willingness to pursue)
- Understanding of quality system processes and regulatory environments in healthcare technology
