LOCATIONS:
- On-site in Danville, VA is highly preferred (Hybrid/remote flexibility possible for non-local candidates)
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Set and manage logistics strategy by defining short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational priorities and overseeing distribution, warehousing, and transportation.
- Coordinate global logistics operations by partnering with European counterparts, ensuring supplier agreements are met, and maintaining inventory availability.
- Drive performance and financial discipline through KPI reporting, budget monitoring, and implementation of best practices for cost, service, and quality.
- Lead and develop the team by executing customer projects on time and on budget, fostering continuous improvement, and cultivating a culture of learning and growth.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- 8 years in global supply chain covering warehousing and transportation.
- Broad logistics experience in ocean freight (required), LTL, trucking, and parcel; with strong international focus.
- Experience managing both remote and in-office teams; preference for leaders who have built teams.
- Proven record optimizing supply chains and managing global ocean freight while ensuring U.S./international customs and dangerous goods compliance.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization skills
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
