Key Responsibilities
- Departmental Leadership: Oversee day-to-day tax operations, eliminate bottlenecks, and align department goals with the firm's growth strategy.
- Team Mentorship: Supervise and coach tax professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development through regular feedback.
- Technical Oversight: Review complex individual, business (1065, 1120S), and trust returns. Lead research for projections and manage IRS/state notices.
- Process Innovation: Continuously improve workflows and leverage new technology to enhance accuracy and client experience.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure strategic, clear communication with clients and oversee their seamless onboarding into the tax department.
- Experience: 7 years in tax and accounting, including at least 3 years in a management role within a public accounting firm.
- Education & Licensing: Bachelor’s in Accounting required (Master's preferred); CPA or EA certification highly preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of U.S. tax laws and high proficiency in UltraTax CS and QuickBooks Online.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to mentor a team, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
