Accountants One is excited to be exclusively retained by a highly successful real estate private equity investment firm based in Birmingham to identify an experienced Director of Accounting & Investor Relations with Commercial Real Estate accounting expertise to join their dynamic team.
This established firm, with 16 years of proven success, focuses primarily on self-storage investments backed by prominent investors outside the venture capital space—empowering them to take an aggressive, strategic approach in the commercial real estate sector.
The ideal candidate will possess a CPA, a strong accounting background, and experience with investor relations in a private equity, commercial real estate environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA is required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in real estate accounting or finance, preferably within a real estate private equity environment.
- Experience in investor relations, client relationship management, or a client-facing financial role.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting and analysis, with strong ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to senior management and investors. (Fund financials, distributions, and waterfalls.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; polish building investor-facing materials.
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Exposure to Yardi Voyage a plus.
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
