IMPACT DESCRIPTION

The Inspector serves a key role in the DHI Commercial division by providing careful, complete, and thorough storm damage inspections on roofs and exterior elements of client properties. Our division and clients count on this professional to be meticulous, efficient, safe, and skilled when inspecting, documenting, and assessing their assets. Occasionally they are tasked with handling temporary tarping and/or minor roof damage repairs which helps our client maintain operational performance at their asset locations.

• Remarkable Experiences – deliver remarkable experiences for all DHI Commercial clients and teammates that exceed expectations.
• Storm Damage Roof Inspections – inspect client properties and exterior building conditions for storm related damage.
• Emergency Temporary Repairs – provide temporary tarping and/or minor roof damage repairs to prevent immediate rainwater entry.
• Client and Teammate Support – prepare and complete accurate, efficient and thorough inspection reporting.

• Inspect current and potential client properties (building exteriors) for storm damage after severe weather events
• Diagnose potential leak and compromised roof, gutters, and siding conditions with the intention of reporting and possibly providing solutions and proposal information for clients
• Prepare clear and reliable reports with photos of roof and exterior conditions
• Support and assist Onsite Construction Supervisors during restoration to ensure quality and safe work 
• Assist Claims Manager as needed for the advancement of adjusters reports and claims filed

• Thorough investigator with a sharp eye for details and analysis.
• Produces reliable and accurate inspections and reports.
• Well-spoken with the ability to translate inspection findings into writing for client and teammates.
• Receptive to continuous training and professional development.
• Willingness to successfully manage various out of town inspections while on multiple-day deployments up to 15 days at a time.
• Flexibility and willingness to help clients and teammates.

• HS diploma/equivalent required
• Comfortable climbing ladders and not afraid of heights up to 35 feet

• The work for this role takes place outdoors and from a vehicle regardless of weather conditions or temperature
• This role could travel up to 80%, as high as 90% during catastrophic storm events, with extended stays away from home

• Primarily working in outdoor conditions in varying climates and varying heights (up to 35-40 feet in the air on sloped roofs)
• Regularly loads, erects, and climbs ladders to inspect conditions
• Must be able to lift and move inspection tools and apparatus, up to 30 pounds
• This position requires a good deal of physical activity and manual dexterity, balance, coordination, and stamina
