The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).

- NBCOT certification (renewal optional)
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
- Active state licensure and registration
- CPR certification (obtain during orientation if not already certified)
- Preferably one year of experience; new graduates are welcome
- Implement and follow treatment plans under OT supervision
- Document patient progress accurately and timely
- Use therapy software effectively
- Communicate with patients, families, and team members to coordinate care
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and organizational policies
- Participate in community health initiatives as appropriate
- Assist in patient evacuation and ensure safety and sanitation standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and email
- Excellent customer service and professionalism
- Good judgment, reasoning, and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting, and moving patients
- Strong communication skills in English
- Maintain professional relationships and integrity
- Follow all company policies, including compliance and harassment procedures
- Demonstrate good body mechanics and dependability
