- Assist in managing nursing services for a designated unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Delegate tasks to nursing staff and monitor their performance.
- Observe patients for symptoms or reactions, noting any adverse changes in physical or mental condition.
- Notify physicians of emergencies or patient deaths and implement changes in orders as directed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing with renewal proof every other year.
- Willingness to serve as a charge nurse and work during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
- Ability to deliver quality nursing care, follow physician orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- Annual CPR certification and participation in in-service training and staff meetings.
