Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role: We are looking for a proactive employee to use own experience and judgment to carry out the mission of the Certified Residential Program.
Responsibilities:
- As a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) of assigned IRA programs, ensure participant life plans are properly developed, implemented, distributed, and maintained, per Agency and OPWDD policies
- Develop a system to communicate with participants and families/advocates in order to monitor service satisfaction and ensure services are implemented as planned
- Develop and implement a quality assurance program to monitor staff service provision on-site at the IRA, to ensure the implementation of life plan goals as intended
- Ensure the intake/discharge process for the department is implemented per required procedures
- Work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure medical oversight of participants and to ensure that all medical and/or specialist recommendations are followed
- Ensure that medication, behavioral support intervention, and emergency/safety, procedures, are developed, practiced, and revised, as needed
- Ensure participants are assessed for fire evacuation skills and drills are conducted per Agency policy/OPWDD regulation
- Regularly review the status of physical plant/properties, address any issues, as needed
- Supervision
- Responsible for the supervision of Residential Director, Senior Program Manager, Program Managers and other assigned staff
- Ensure all department documentation is completed with required billing elements and maintained per Agency policy/procedure, including service notes, monthly notes, life plans, as well as logs for medication, behavior support, and fire drills; ensure required documents such as life plans and LCEDs are current and in participant records
- Ensure incident reports are completed timely and safeguards/recommendations are implemented
- Monitor and ensure the implementation of Plans of Corrective Action (POCA)
- Establish and maintain internal and external communication mechanisms and contacts needed to facilitate program operations.
- Review monthly financials and work with the Sr Director and Finance to modify budget and/or expenses, as needed
- Follows Agency Standards and Procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a human services field, plus one year of experience working with people with disabilities, is required. Minimum of two years supervisory experience required. Knowledge of OPWDD services and regulations, preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
Must have a valid New York State driver license in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving Policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs.
