Job Overview
Join our team as a Heavy Equipment /Directional Drill Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of construction equipment, Vermeer directional drills, gladiator directional drills, Heavy duty & light duty diesel trucks, And trailers. This is a traveling position but prefer local candidates to Carrollton, GA.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair directional drills, vacuum systems, mud mixing systems, trailers, trucks, and support equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Welding and fabrication
- Keep accurate maintenance records
- Respond to field service calls when needed
- Working/repairing light and heavy duty diesel trucks
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in dealership settings or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and repair.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, alignment procedures, and HVAC systems.
- Hands-on experience with schematics reading and electrical system troubleshooting is essential.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred to better understand machine functionality during repairs.
- Ability to use power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, soldering devices and perform heavy lifting safely.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike.
