About the role

This opportunity is for a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in developing and enhancing the systems that power high-volume payment processing. You will work on building critical infrastructure components, including payment orchestration services, merchant-facing APIs, and real-time settlement systems that handle large-scale financial activity

.The position offers strong ownership and visibility, with the expectation that your work will move quickly from development into production. You will partner with product stakeholders to define requirements and collaborate with engineering peers to design and deliver reliable, scalable solutions

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance payment systems
• Design and deliver backend services capable of processing high volumes of transactions with accuracy and reliability
• Create developer-friendly APIs and tools that enable seamless integration for external partners
• Develop and refine fraud prevention and risk management capabilities using live data signals
• Drive scalability and performance
• Design distributed systems that are resilient, observable, and performant under heavy load
• Improve database efficiency, caching strategies, and service-to-service communication
• Implement monitoring and alerting practices to maintain system health in production
• Deliver new features
• Own projects from initial design through deployment and ongoing iteration
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Ensure code quality while maintaining a strong pace of delivery
• Strengthen engineering practices
• Contribute to architectural direction, tooling choices, and development standards
• Support and mentor other engineers through collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Play a role in shaping team culture and engineering excellence as the organization grows

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in software engineering
• Strong skills in TypeScript and Node.js, with additional experience in frontend frameworks such as React considered helpful
• Solid understanding of API design, database systems including both relational and document models, and distributed system principles
• Experience building or maintaining systems that require high reliability or handle significant transaction volume
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern deployment approaches such as containerization
• Proven ability to deliver and maintain production-grade software
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Background in payments, financial technology, or blockchain-related systems is beneficial
