About the Role
This position is suited for an experienced software engineer who wants meaningful ownership in systems that operate directly in financial markets. You will be part of a small, collaborative engineering group responsible for building and evolving the internal platforms that support trading activity. Rather than focusing on isolated tasks, you will guide key services over their lifespan, setting technical direction, maintaining reliability, and improving performance. From whiteboard discussions through deployment and on-call support, you will be involved at every stage. You will work closely with trading and quantitative teams to convert real-world market needs into dependable, low-latency software. The work you do will influence both daily operations and long-term infrastructure decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop core systems that support live trading operations.
- Own applications end to end, including architecture, implementation, automated testing, production rollout, and future enhancements.
- Partner with traders, quantitative analysts, and engineers to clarify requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
- Monitor and support production environments, responding quickly to issues that affect performance or stability.
- Strengthen and scale a complex, time-sensitive software ecosystem.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of professional software development experience building and supporting production systems ideally in a trading or fintech environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise in C , particularly in concurrent, networked application environments.
- A demonstrated ability to independently deliver complex projects without needing step-by-step technical direction.
- Solid understanding of system-wide behavior, including networking, distributed coordination, and performance tuning across services.
- Advanced experience using Git, command-line tools, and debugging or profiling software to investigate and resolve system issues.
- Comfort working across both Linux and Windows platforms and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools or technologies.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with a proactive approach to resolving ambiguity or roadblocks.
- Careful attention to detail, genuine interest in financial markets, and the discipline to balance quick fixes with long-term maintainability.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary is expected to fall between $160,000 and $192,500 and discretionary bonus.
