Job Summary:

Responsibilities
- Receive and log specimens from various sources, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming materials
- Verify the integrity of specimens upon receipt, checking for proper labeling, quantity, and condition
- Conduct preliminary assessments of specimens for quality and suitability for testing
- Identify and report any discrepancies or issues with specimens, such as damaged or improperly labeled samples
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory standards related to specimen handling and disposal
- Assist in maintaining an organized specimen storage area, ensuring proper labeling and tracking of samples
- Accurately log deliveries into the national log system using scanning technology
- Receive daily shipments and promptly sort, stock, scan and update reporting
- Collaborate with shipping, receiving and production teams to ensure smooth order processing
- Communicate updates and any potential issues promptly
- Additional tasks may be assigned at any time by management
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of related experience in shipping receiving, customer service or inventory control procedures
- Previous experience in intake, receiving, or a similar role in a laboratory, healthcare, or logistics environment is highly desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication to effectively interact with internal teams
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and handling of incoming specimens or products
- Strong skills in organizing and managing multiple specimens and related documentation efficiently
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of biological materials
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
- Capacity to identify and resolve issues related to specimen tracking or scanning discrepancies
- Effective prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations
