Scheduler Job Description
A scheduler is a non-clinical administrative specialist. A scheduler works to schedule procedures at medical facilities. They are responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day schedule of operations within a radiology/oncology department.
A scheduler should also have a basic knowledge of medical terminology. A scheduler needs to have strong computer skills, with knowledge of different computer applications that may be utilized in the scheduling process. It is important for a scheduler to have highly proficient verbal and written communication skills. A scheduler will also need to have strong customer service skills. Ascheduler will handle a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls. They will be responsible for taking messages, retrieving voicemails, re-routing phone calls, as well as follow-ups. Schedulers will set up and confirm appointments. They will also verify customer information, including insurance and billing information. As a scheduler you may also be responsible for verifying that patient files are up to date. It is important that a scheduler has good time-management and organizational skills as they will often work in a fast-paced work environment.
Education
High school graduate or have equivalent qualification
Requirements
- Knowledge: Prior practice management system experience or at least one year of previous patient registration experience desired
- Computer skills: It is also important that applicants have working knowledge of PC

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
