Hardware Tester / Component Verification Test Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a Hardware Testing Engineer to support the validation and reliability testing of electronic and electromechanical products for our client. This role is responsible for executing environmental and vibration testing, maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure, documenting test results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance.
About This Position:
- 12-month contract opportunity (potential to convert to FTE)
- Fully on-site position (5 days/week in office)
- Location: Dayton, OH

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute vibration, environmental, and stress testing in accordance with test plans and validation requirements.
- Configure and maintain test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and laboratory infrastructure.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain accurate test data, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
- Document test procedures, results, observations, and recommendations in a clear and organized manner.
- Track testing activities, issues, and progress using Jira and other project management tools.
- Support the development and execution of Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) activities.
- Collaborate closely with validation, engineering, and product development teams to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable testing standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a hardware test laboratory or product validation environment.
- Hands-on experience using electronic test equipment, including:
- Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
- Power Supplies
- Oscilloscopes
- Experience executing and documenting DVP&R activities.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
Where You Can Stand Out:
- Experience operating environmental chambers, vibration systems, or data acquisition equipment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols such as MIL-STD-810 and SAE J1939.
- Experience with electronics assembly, cable fabrication, and soldering.
- Familiarity with product validation, reliability testing, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
