We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment. We do not discriminate for any reason. We welcome talented individuals who believe in our mission, drive the organization forward, and recognize the positive impact they can bring to our communities.

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) is one of the nation's largest Federally Qualified Health Centers, operating 35 health centers across the Chicagoland area and serving more than 180,000 patients annually. We are at a critical financial inflection point, and we need a Chief Financial Officer who brings toughness, curiosity, and strategic depth to help us navigate it.

The CFO will serve as a driving force behind ACCESS's financial transformation, modernizing how we operate, optimizing how we generate and protect revenue, and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability in an evolving healthcare landscape.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic, execution-focused enterprise leader partnering with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors to drive financial strength, operational discipline, and long-term sustainability. This role aligns financial strategy with measurable business outcomes, ensuring accountability, margin improvement, and scalable growth.

Why This Role

For more than 40 years, ACCESS has delivered high-quality, essential healthcare services to underserved communities across the Chicagoland region. The CFO will play a central role in strengthening long-term financial sustainability, enabling strategic investment in care delivery, expanding access, and supporting the communities that depend on ACCESS every day.

This enterprise leadership role is pivotal to shaping strategy, modernizing financial operations, and driving performance across a mission-driven healthcare system. The ideal candidate brings judgment, operational discipline, and strategic leadership to the position ACCESS for sustained stability, growth, and community impact.

The CFO leads all financial operations and serves as a key architect of transformation, strengthening fiscal stewardship, modernizing financial infrastructure, and delivering data-driven insights that inform decision-making across a complex, mission-driven healthcare environment.

ACCESS seeks a forward-thinking, high-impact finance executive with a proven ability to lead change, build operational rigor, and deliver measurable performance improvement. The ideal candidate is decisive, accountable, and focused on translating strategy into sustainable financial and operational results while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

  • Translate financial insights into clear operational actions in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Provide direct, data-driven counsel to the CEO and Board to enable transparency and timely decision-making.

  • Oversee 340B financial strategy with strong risk management and diversification planning.
  • Advance revenue growth through payer innovation, partnerships, grant diversification, and program expansion.

Serve as a Strategic Partner to the CEO and Board

  • Shape enterprise strategy by challenging assumptions, informing decisions, and reinforcing accountability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and deliver clear, data-driven financial insights and strategic guidance to the Board and Finance Committee.

  • Serve as the lead financial voice in decisions related to growth, investment, and organizational design.

Manage Core Financial Operations

  • Ensure disciplined execution of budgeting, audit readiness, grants management, and regulatory compliance while maintaining accuracy, transparency, and operational accountability.
  • Manage treasury, cash flow, liquidity, and debt strategy to protect financial stability and support investment.

  • Demonstrated use of AI, automation, and technology to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Executive presence, resilience, and sound judgment with the ability to make difficult decisions, navigate complexity, and maintain accountability under pressure.
  • Active, hands-on use of AI and technology to drive efficiency, insight, and performance.
  • Ability to influence across the enterprise and lead through credibility, execution, judgment, and results.

Distinctive Executive Capabilities

  • Executive leadership experience in complex, multi-site healthcare environments, preferably within FQHCs or similarly regulated, mission-driven organizations.
