We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist to join our Finance and Accounting team. This role will oversee the end-to-end billing process for our SaaS business, driving operational efficiency, process improvements, and transformation initiatives. This position reports to our Revenue Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), hands-on experience with SaaS billing operations, and a proven track record of involvement in billing system implementations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role will regularly partner with cross-functional teams to resolve billing issues and support business growth. In addition to overseeing complex SaaS billing operations, this position will lead efforts to enhance processes through system optimization, automation, and scalability initiatives. The Senior Billing Specialist will also play a key role in our billing system migration project, assisting with data validation, process testing, and system configuration to ensure a smooth transition and a robust, scalable quote-to-cash environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end billing lifecycle for SaaS subscriptions, usage-based pricing models, and contract amendments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure compliance with client invoicing requirements, contractual terms, and internal controls, while maintaining a high standard of invoice accuracy
- Serve as the primary liaison for all billing-related inquiries, fostering trust and transparency with internal teams and external clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders by proactively resolving billing concerns and delivering exceptional service
- Independently prepare, validate, and process high-volume, complex invoices with precision and efficiency
- Support and contribute to the successful implementation of a new billing platform, including data migration, testing, and user training
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to document, analyze, and streamline billing workflows, enhancing scalability and minimizing manual intervention
- Develop and maintain billing schedules aligned with contract terms, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition
- Resolve escalated billing issues from strategic customers and partners, delivering effective solutions and maintaining client satisfaction
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure resolution in alignment with financial reporting standards
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant standards
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience in billing, A/R, or revenue operations; SaaS/subscription billing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Saas accounting and billing software (NetSuite, Salesforce, Zone, or similar systems)
- Strong knowledge of SaaS billing requirements and revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Excellent data entry and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to use problem-solving skills and be a “go-getter”
- Effective communication skills for team members across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Salary Range: $60,000-85,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
