Job Description
Position Summary: Provides educational and behavioral consultation and direct services to help ACCEPT programs build capacity to serve students with a variety of diverse needs and disabilities.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.)
Board Certification
3 – 5 years of experience working with children and/or young adults with special needs, preferably in a school environment
Qualifications Desired
Master’s Degree in Education or a related field
Training or a strong understanding in special education law
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Conduct appropriate formal and informal assessments and interpret results
Safely respond to both acute and ongoing challenging behaviors as a direct provider within the learning environment
Consult with staff regarding the needs and services of students and families
Provide consultation and support to ACCEPT programs
Develop strategies to implement goals and address behavioral issues in the school setting
Serve as a liaison between the school and home environments to ensure consistency and appropriate carry-over of programs
Document and review student progress and review/complete progress reports
Serve on Team to determine the appropriateness of ACCEPT program
Consult with teams to develop goals and objectives regarding educational/behavioral needs
Conduct professional development workshops
Other duties as assigned

Occasional travel to all collaborative locations and transfer between ACCEPT programs based on programmatic needs

Physical Demands And Work Environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about and may be required to traverse occasionally throughout the school building. The employee must also often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and perform physical restraint of a student at times of behavioral escalation. The employee is expected to lift at least 20 lbs (i.e. books, school supplies, etc.). The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and use hand strength to grasp tools. Occasionally s/he operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). The employee must be able to input information into a computer and as well as read material from a computer monitor as well as handwritten or printed matter with or without visual aids. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members in person and on the telephone. In the classroom, the employee must be able to see and hear on a continuous basis in order to ensure the safety of students as well as speak frequently to provide instruction. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to move quickly/run across even or uneven surfaces. The employee interacts with students, parents, and other staff members. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.
Work Environment: The employee will be working in a normal school environment with an acceptable level of noise.

Job Requirements
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in education, ABA, or Psychology
- LABA, BCBA ,or BCaBA certification
- A minimum of one year relevant experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal requirements.
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
