The Role: Inspector I

As an Inspector I, you are responsible for the comprehensive stormwater pollution prevention oversight of construction sites. You will serve as the eyes and ears of the project, ensuring every BMP is functioning and the site meets regulatory compliance requirements..

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular, weather-event, and pre-construction inspections. You will physically walk each site to inspect the integrity of erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Technical Documentation: Complete and submit detailed inspection reports via ComplianceGO on the same day as the inspection. This includes updating site maps, documenting corrective actions, and taking site photos to verify signage.
  • Stakeholder Communication: You will "Bridge the Gap" by notifying clients before arrival and conducting face-to-face or phone debriefs with site contacts after every inspection.
  • Training & Coaching: Conduct "First Inspection" meetings to educate clients on SWPPP requirements.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Attend pre-construction meetings and stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Integrity & Accountability: You understand that a missed inspection is a violation of the law. You take personal pride in never missing a deadline or a detail.
  • Communication Skills: You are comfortable speaking with site superintendents and regulators alike. You speak the language of solutions.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to walk rugged construction sites in all weather conditions (heat, snow, rain).
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to learn and use inspection software (ComplianceGO). Remote or in person training will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
  • Must wear and maintain personal PPE (Hard hat, eye protection, high-visibility vest).
