Your Impact
The Welding Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily welding operations, coordinating work assignments, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading a team of welders to achieve production goals safely and efficiently. This role combines hands-on welding expertise with leadership and training responsibilities.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Employees must be able to talk, hear, and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close and color vision and focus adjustment. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and explosives. Noise levels can be very loud, requiring ear protection. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of welders and welding assistants.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production schedules.
- Perform welding operations as needed using MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, or other welding processes.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with company, customer, and industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding specifications.
- Train new employees on welding techniques, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Troubleshoot welding defects, equipment issues, and production challenges.
- Coordinate with supervisors, quality control personnel, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper preventive maintenance is completed.
- Monitor productivity, material usage, and labor efficiency.
- Conduct team meetings and communicate production goals and expectations.
- 3–7 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
- Proficiency in welding processes.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Strong understanding of welding codes, quality standards, and inspection methods.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
