About the Opportunity
A long-established manufacturer of custom industrial processing equipment is looking to add a Sales Engineer to their team.
This is a technical, relationship-driven sales role focused on engineered-to-order equipment—not transactional or high-volume sales. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their processes, develop tailored solutions, and guide projects through a longer, consultative sales cycle.
The position is open due to an upcoming retirement, creating an opportunity to step into a stable territory with existing relationships and build long-term success.
What You’ll Be Doing
Technical Sales & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in industrial markets
- Identify new business opportunities while supporting existing accounts
- Present custom equipment solutions via in-person meetings and virtual presentations
Application & Solution Development
- Collaborate with internal engineering to develop custom equipment solutions
- Help customers define specifications and select the right systems
- Participate in lab testing and validation when needed
Sales Cycle Management
- Manage long, complex sales cycles (typically 1–6 months)
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and follow-ups
- Track opportunities through CRM from initial inquiry to order placement
Business Development & Reporting
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance
- Attend trade shows and customer visits as needed
- Generate brand awareness and interest in engineered solutions
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of sales experience (industrial or technical preferred)
- Experience with capital equipment, machinery, or process systems is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude (hands-on or technical background preferred)
- Ability to understand how systems and components work together
- Comfortable managing multiple opportunities in a long sales cycle
- Self-motivated with strong organization and follow-through

Compensation & Structure
- Base Salary: ~$65K - $80K
- Commission: ~2.25% on equipment additional opportunities on other product lines
- Uncapped earning potential
