Safety Coordinator
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the corrugated packaging industry, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its team in Greater Milwaukee, WI This position plays a critical role in fostering and maintaining a safety-first culture throughout the facility. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving environmental health and safety programs while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain and administer facility safety systems and documentation.
- Document safety concerns, corrective actions, incident investigations, and resolutions.
- Create, update, and maintain safety procedures, policies, standards, and training records.
- Identify safety training needs and coordinate training programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety orientations and ongoing training for new and existing employees.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying opportunities to improve workplace safety.
- Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization to support safety initiatives.
- Assist leadership with safety reports, metrics, and presentations for weekly and monthly meetings.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Establish and monitor annual health and safety goals, including tracking recordable incidents, lost-time cases, and other safety metrics.
- Coordinate contractor safety orientation and ensure compliance with facility safety policies.
- Assist employees in selecting and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and evaluations.
- Partner with Human Resources to support new hire onboarding and safety training.
- Effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, with the flexibility to periodically work nights and occasional weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage workplace safety programs.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to lead safety training for both small and large groups.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional safety certifications are a plus.
