Production Manager – Meal Manufacturing Operations
Our partner client is a mission-driven meal production organization committed to equitable access to healthy, nutritious, and dignified food. We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to oversee kitchen operations, leading a diverse team of cooks, platers, dishwashers, and warehouse staff in a high-volume meal manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production activities including scheduling, prep, plating, packaging, and distribution.
- Implement and maintain SOPs that ensure quality, efficiency, and food safety standards.
- Coach and mentor production staff and volunteers, fostering teamwork, accountability, and skill development.
- Partner with culinary and R&D teams to introduce new menu concepts and standardize recipes and processes.
- Track production metrics, labor hours, and throughput to improve efficiencies and reduce waste.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and vendor relationships for ingredients and packaging.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations (ServSafe, HACCP, FDA, and local health codes).
- Promote a safe, positive, and mission-focused environment aligned with community values.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of experience in food production, commercial kitchen operations, catering, or community meal programs.
- Proven leadership experience with hourly kitchen or warehouse teams.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and process improvement abilities in a high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards; ServSafe/HACCP preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- A passion for community impact, food justice, and sustainability.
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
