Materials Manager
We are seeking a Materials Manager to oversee planning, procurement, inventory, and distribution activities within our manufacturing plant. This role is critical to ensuring production schedules are met by maintaining optimal inventory levels, strengthening vendor relationships, and driving efficiency across the supply chain.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in materials management and supply chain within a manufacturing environment, proven leadership experience, and expertise in ERP/MRP systems and lean practices.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop the materials team (buyers, planners, and inventory staff)
- Oversee purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, and material flow
- Forecast material requirements and manage supplier performance
- Optimize inventory targets, safety stock, and reorder points
- Implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (required)
- 5 years of experience in materials management/supply chain in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, and lean practices
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- APICS/CPIM certification a plus
