Job Summary:
The ADON's primary function is for the overall supervision of patient care and monitoring of appropriate staffing and productivity. Coordinates care with the Interdisciplinary Group/Team, patient, family and referring agency. Facilitates communication between the multiple locations site and the Parent office.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates patient care, assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Participates in activities relevant to professional services including development of agency personnel.
- Supervises and provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with plan of care and assessment of patient's needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.
- Monitors QA/PI Program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed.
- Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors.
- Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to DON, both verbally and written reports.
- Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
- Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
- Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team member to achieve desirable outcomes.
Experience:
- Hospital: 2 years (Preferred)
- Skilled Nursing: 3 years (Preferred)
- Hospice: 2 years (Required)
- RN (Required)
- ADON: 1-2 years (Preferred)
- RN - Current Registered Nurse License for the state of TX - required
- 2 years minimum experience in a management role - required
- Proven leadership experience in Hospice
- Time management and multitasking skills to complete many tasks throughout the day
- High organizational skills
- Able to prioritize and be efficient and work without supervision
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines, rules, regulations, and elements of performance related to Hospice
- Assists the Director of Nursing to provide, plan, coordinate or manage nursing care, nursing services
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and patients’ families
- Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and federal, state and local healthcare laws
- Strong written communication skills to compile reports and write evaluations
- Analytical skills to interpret diagnostic information and financial data
