Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is a vital member responsible for day-to-day financial tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/accounts receivable, general bookkeeping, managing general ledgers, ensuring compliance with GAAP, month-end close and preparing monthly financial reports and statements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university. Knowledge and Proficiency of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). At least three years of experience in day-to-day financial tasks and bookkeeping (A/R, A/P, Bank Reconciliation, and Journal Entries, etc.) is required. Experience with SAGE software preferred.
Must be organized and possess the ability to multitask. Ability to work with people of diverse lifestyles is required. Prior experience working in an HIV service, HIV prevention, healthcare, mental health, or substance abuse rehabilitation program preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
Regular Responsibilities
· Monitors daily Cash flow.
·Makes bank deposits and transfers in consultation with the Director of Finance and CEO.
· Records all financial transactions in consultation with the Director of Finance and CEO.
· Reconciles, adjusts and maintains general ledger accounts.
· Responsible for the coding and submission of all invoices.
· Responsible for end of month process and in producing monthly financial statements.
· Reviews quarterly and annual payroll reports including W2s/W3 that are prepared by the Payroll provider.
· Manages Accounts Payable and assists with the completion of Accounts Receivable.
· Reviews deposits prepared by Bookkeeper or other Accountant(s) and reconciles back to AR reports from Easy Act.
Monthly Responsibilities
·Monitors daily Cash flow.
·Makes bank deposits and transfers in consultation with the CFO and/or CEO.
· Records all financial transactions in consultation with the CFO.
· Reconciles, adjusts, and maintains general ledger accounts.
· Responsible for the coding and submission of all invoices.
· Responsible for month-end processes and producing monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports.
· Reviews quarterly and annual payroll reports including W2s/W3 that are prepared by the Payroll provider.
· Reviews Accounts Payable and assists with the completion of Accounts Receivable.
· Reviews deposits prepared by Accounting/Finance staff
Annual Responsibilities
· Assists in the preparation of external audit, including audit schedules, reconciliations, accruals, etc. while working close with auditors.
· Compiles information/documents for auditors to assist in preparation of the 990 tax return.
· Prepares/performs annual Workers Comp audit.
· Files and completes reporting of 1099s.
Other Responsibilities
· Available as backup for Accounting/Finance staff as necessary.
· Assists with any other tasks as assigned by the CFO or the CEO.
Conditions of Employment:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
