What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse- Clinic position at Acadian Medical Center?
1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Mission, Beliefs/Values, and AIDET customer service model.
2. Triage and rooming of patients
3. Must comply with keeping up with logs that must be completed for compliance by state agencies
4. Perform- vital signs, allergies, height and weight and medication history pre-examination.
5. Assist in patient/family education
6. Prepares and administers injections
7. Dress wounds/ remove sutures.
8. Administers cognitive testing as applicable.
9. Documenting appropriately in patient medical record all interaction with patient in timely.
10. Scheduling of precertification of hospital procedures.
11. Knowledge of medication including specific dosing and under the direction of physician correctly ordering, refilling and attaining insurance approval for prescriptions.
12. Reviews messages from physicians throughout the day and follows instructions as indicated, including contacting patients with any new instructions for care, medication information, referrals, etc.
13. Reviews unreconciled labs and diagnostic imaging and performs reconciliations at least daily.
14. Reviews escripts throughout the day and submits refills to physicians.
15. Processes FMLA, disability forms, and other applicable requests timely.
16. Provides support and assistance as needed to patients, medical assistants, physicians, and other staff.
17. Assists physicians with clinical procedures for patients as needed.
18. Some administrative duties as trained and assigned i.e. : Computer applications, Answering Telephones, Greeting patients, Scheduling appointments, Updating and filing patient medical records, Coding and filing out insurance forms, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping.
19. Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.
