As a Commercial HVAC-R Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing field service tasks including installation support, routine maintenance, repairs, and system diagnostics for commercial heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and cooking equipment.
- Conduct on-site preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs
- Troubleshoot and resolve standard service issues; escalate complex issues as needed
- Use technical knowledge to assess and communicate service needs
- Report findings and recommended corrective actions to your manager
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to ensure customer satisfaction
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures
- Be available for overtime, on-call, and weekend work as needed
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC service
- EPA Type I & II or Universal Certification (Required)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for diagnostics and repair
- Ability to work with tablet to get written paperwork and signatures.
HVAC Technicians are required to install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial rooftop HVAC units. These tasks are often performed independently and may involve working in challenging environments. Therefore, technicians must be physically capable of safely performing the following duties:
- Lift and carry up to 70–100 lbs. including tools, parts, and equipment
- Climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops, often at heights exceeding 10 feet
- Stand, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods while accessing and working on units
- Use hand and power tools with manual dexterity and precision
- Operate equipment such as lifts, hoists, and ladders safely
- Work in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, and confined spaces
- Drive company vehicles to and from job sites as required
- Maintain balance and coordination while navigating uneven surfaces or rooftop areas
- Always use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) to comply with safety regulations
- Perform repetitive movements and sustain physical effort throughout the workday
- Communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions, especially when troubleshooting or coordinating with team members
