JOB TITLE: STUDENT TRANSPORTATION DRIVER - Substitute REPORTS TO : Director of Facilities, or Facilities Manager who determines the bus routes and provides direction. SUPERVISES: Student passengers NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: The Student Transportation Driver transports students in a safe and efficient manner and performs all activities related to the operation of school vehicles. The Driver adheres, without exception, to all traffic laws while driving any and all school property. The Driver upholds the Mission of the school. QUALIFICATIONS: The Driver shall: Hold and maintain a Valid California Drivers License, (Commercial B preferred but not required), with no serious violations. Be a reliable person of good character who shall possess the qualifications and communication skills necessary to perform the duties of the position, and comply with the rules set forth for drivers in all federal, state and local regulations. Have a minimum of five years previous safe driving experience. Have sufficient mechanical aptitude to recognize minor problems and report these problems. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Exhibit positive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California Drivers License, (Commercial B preferred but not required), with no serious violations. Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and two professional references from current or former supervisors. Candidates must also provide a current negative TB test result or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, complete required training, and successfully complete Livescan fingerprinting. Employment is contingent upon obtaining fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
