The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is the leading specialist educator for game development, 3D animation and VFX. Established in 1996 as a non-profit organization to grow the creative digital sector, AIE pioneered specialist education in these fields throughout our campuses in the United States and Australia.
AIE is looking for an experienced Student Services Coordinator to join our team at the Lafayette Campus. The duty of the Student Services Coordinator is to facilitate a positive and engaged campus experience for our enrolled students. This involves tracking their attendance and performance in class, assisting them with needs outside of class or school when possible, and creating events/activities that have an uplifting community effect.
Responsibilities:
- Process enrollment’s paperwork, student profile is entered into student management system and the student record is filed appropriately
- Facilitates a student and/or parent meeting with the Financial Aid Officer (FAO)
- Follow-up with enrolled students on initial external needs such as housing and transportation. Maintain a running list of housing suggestions and roommate needs in the area
- Work with the Head of School (HoS) to prepare Orientation Day for both students and parents
- Have an individual check-in with each student near the end of the first month of the term
- Keep tabs on student health (physical and mental), family life, and living situations.
- Maintain all student files in accordance with accreditation and state requirements.
- Data entry of course assessments from the faculty
- Report any failed assessment directly to the HoS. Include the FAO as necessary to track Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Coordinate and staff in house school events to bolster student engagement and school spirit
- Assist the HoS as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience in student services (enrollments, admissions, data entry) or related field
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and cooperatively as part of a small team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Initiative and ability to learn
- Commitment to quality assurance
- Prior experience and interest in the interactive entertainment industries
