Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated ESE (Exceptional Student Education) Coordinator to lead and support inclusive educational programs within our institution. In this vital role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of specialized educational services for students with diverse learning needs. Duties
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Florida DOE regulations, and district policies related to special education
- Coordinate and oversee the development and implementation of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Work directly with students with IEPs to support academic success, accommodations, and service delivery
- Facilitate IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and ensure appropriate accommodations and services are provided
- Provide training and support to teachers and staff on ESE best practices and legal requirements
- Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation
- Assist with evaluations, eligibility determinations, and placement decisions
- Support behavior intervention planning and implementation when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid Florida certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with IEPs (leadership or coordination experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and Florida compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in program coordination or school-based leadership
- Familiarity with Florida data systems (e.g., FOCUS, PEER, or similar platforms)
