Food Service- Cook

Job Title: Food Service- ACGC High School
Reports To: Building Principal

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary arts certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in an institutional or school setting.
• Supervisory or leadership experience in a kitchen environment.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and menu planning.
• Familiarity with dietary requirements and allergen management.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (e.g., food supplies, equipment).
• Capability to work in a hot, humid kitchen environment.

Work Environment:

• School kitchens and cafeteria settings.
• Collaborative work with administrative staff, students, and kitchen team members.
