Job Summary
*Please note: This position is intended for caregivers who already have an established caregiving relationship with a client, family member, friend, or care recipient who will be receiving services through our agency. Applicants must have an existing client at the time of hire, as this role is designed for individuals who wish to continue providing care under our agency's employment and support.*
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support medication administration and ensure proper care plans are followed under supervision or as trained.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation tasks regularly.
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to assist with mobility and prevent injury during transfers.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster emotional well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid procedures, and emergency response plans to ensure resident safety at all times.
- Document patient observations accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding care updates or concerns.
- Support residents’ participation in community activities or outings to promote social engagement and independence.
Experience
Candidates should preferably (but not required) have prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments. Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Additional qualifications include CPR certification, First Aid training, and proficiency in using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts. Candidates with long-term care experience or social work background will find this role especially rewarding. Qualifications
✔ High school diploma or GED preferred
✔ CNA certification (preferred but not required for some cases)
✔ Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
✔ Ability to pass criminal background check
✔ Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
✔ Current TB test (within 12 months or willingness to obtain)
✔ Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination form
✔ CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
