Position Overview

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical care for patients with a variety of mental health needs. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, dependable, emotionally intelligent, and interested in being part of a collaborative team that is committed to building something sustainable and impactful.

This role is best suited for someone who values patient care, professionalism, autonomy, and being part of a mission-driven practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Provide medication management and follow-up care
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor symptoms, medication response, side effects, and treatment progress
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, and wellness strategies
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership and support staff to improve clinical workflows
  • Participate in the development of systems that improve patient experience and quality of care
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and evidence-based standards of care

Qualifications

  • Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Active APRN license in Connecticut; Massachusetts (open to obtaining a license from another state)
  • Board certification as a PMHNP
  • DEA license or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience with psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Strong documentation and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
  • Experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and other psychiatric conditions preferred
