Responsibilities
- Remove and replace auto glass using manual cutting tools and power tools with precision and care.
- Repair or replace automotive glass components, including windshields, side windows, and rear windows, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Handle glass materials safely, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and disposal in compliance with safety protocols.
- Operate company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and vehicles as needed for service appointments.
- Conduct fitting and installation of new glass units, ensuring proper alignment and secure adhesion.
- Perform minor auto body repairs related to glass installation, including sealing, tinting, and detailing for a polished finish.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including auto estimating documentation and service reports.
- Follow safety procedures when using power tools and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks when required to support overall shop operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in dealership or automotive repair environments with knowledge of auto glass replacement procedures.
- Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration following windshield replacement.
- Skilled in manual glass cutting techniques and handling various glass materials safely.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and auto estimating software.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely during installation or removal processes.
- Knowledge of auto body repair processes such as window tinting, detailing, and assembly work.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about services performed.
- Experience with automotive glass repair methods and fitting techniques for optimal results.
