What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at ABS Tag & Title?
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial leadership, strategy, and risk management of two organizations, ABS National Auto Services, Inc. and ATC Driveaway. The CFO provides oversight, analysis, and guidance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial health across both businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with ownership’s long-term goals.
- Review financial statements, forecasts, and budgets prepared by Controllers; provide analysis and recommendations.
- Partner with COO to evaluate ROI on initiatives, capital expenditures, and new growth opportunities.
- Provide financial guidance to support decision-making on investments, expansion, and resource allocation.
Financial Oversight & Controls
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
- Maintain strong internal controls, compliance with GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance in coordination with external CPA firms.
- Monitor cash flow, capital needs, and financing arrangements.
Risk & Compliance
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, and external financial partners.
- Oversee insurance coverage and risk management for both companies.
Board/Ownership Relations
- Provide financial updates, forecasts, and analysis directly to ownership/board.
- Present long-term financial plans and performance reports.
Competencies:
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Skilled communicator with ability to convey financial insights to non-financial leaders.
- High integrity and ethical leadership.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. CPA designation is highly desirable.
- 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with leadership in multi-entity or multi-division organizations.
- Strong understanding of operational finance, capital structure, and risk management.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leadership on strategy and growth initiatives.
